Joy Harjo is an American poet, musician, playwright, and author. She served as the 23rd United States Poet Laureate, the first Native American to hold that honor. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a member of the Muskoke Nation. She has won many awards for her writings. Harjo also played saxophone and was a vocalist with her own band, Poetic Justice.

Visitors for 6th Grade students with last names A-M will visit Wednesday, Nov 20. Visitors for 6th Grade students with last names N-Z will visit Thursday, Nov 21. Friday Nov 22 will be a make-up day for anyone that was not able to attend during the week. Please make every effort to visit on your designated day and refrain from lunch visits.
Today begins the BIS/Boken Food Drive. Help us fill the Sonrise Church Food Pantry by bringing in unexpired canned and nonperishable foods from November 11-22nd. Drop off in bins in the Office Hallway. The House that collects the most food items will win House Points!
