ICYMI- Today's Robocall
Good Afternoon BIS Families- This is Amy Gallagher, principal of Berlin Intermediate School. We cannot believe that it is almost the last week of summer break. We have been busy getting our school ready for the return of our Jr. Seahawks on Tuesday, September 5th.
We look forward to seeing all of our students and families for Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 30th from 5-7. To ensure that we have enough parking and room in classrooms for students and families, we ask students with last name A-M to attend from 5-6 and students with last name N-Z to attend from 6-7. Back to School night is a chance to meet teachers, find classrooms, preview academics, learn about communication between home and school and finalize transportation. Families, we ask you to please be prompt and plan to stay for your entire scheduled hour. This is not a drop in event…teachers will be presenting information for students and families.
When you arrive, staff members and our peer mediators will be available to help you find your homeroom classroom. We ask 5th grade families to use the main entrance and 6th grade families to use the front entrance by the gym entrance. Your homeroom teacher will review the agenda for the evening with you. Students are welcome to bring supplies in a labeled bag as they can be stored in homeroom, or students may wait and bring their supplies with them on the first day of school.
We look forward to seeing everyone next Wednesday night for Back to School Night and then again on September 5th for a very exciting first day of school.

Attendance Matters! Did you know that any student who is absent 10% of the year, excused or unexcused, is labeled chronically absent? We want you in school every day!

Make sure to mark your calendars. We cannot wait to see you for Back to School Night! 💙🤍 #3RsBIS

Check this out, Jr. Seahawks!

Thank you to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore for recognizing our schools today for their fundraising efforts this past year! We can't wait to kick off this year's campaign! #WCPSBoardMeeting #WeAreWorcester

Families, our school is excited to announce that beginning this school year, we can offer FREE meals to ALL students! This is possible through a federal program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). No sign-up or pre-registration is required, so families no longer have to complete free or reduced-price meal applications!
School meals are nutritious and delicious, so consider having your child eat breakfast and lunch with us! Please visit https://www.worcesterk12.org/o/wcps/page/cep-program for more information.

Hey Jr. Seahawks! The summer mailing is at the post office. Be on the lookout for a letter from BIS. If your address changed, please stop by school with change of address documentation.

STEM Update: The winning boat held 327 pennies! Great job Jr. Seahawks!

Using only a twelve inch and a six inch piece of aluminum foil we are designing boats to see which will carry the most mass in pennies before it sinks. So far the record is 270 pennies!

BIS yearbooks have arrived and can be picked up in the main office M – TH, 7:30 AM to 5 PM. If you do not choose summer pick up, we will distribute when students return in the fall and/or will send them to SDMS.

Many thanks to High Five Hospitality for your generous donation to our school. We will be able to surprise our teachers and students throughout the year!
