It’s “Monochromatic Monday” but our administration sure made things colorful today! Administrators surprised staff with a spinning bow game where they could win a prize including donations from local businesses, fuzzy socks, candy bars and treats, free casual days, a complimentary yoga session, and all sorts of other fun items. Much gratitude to our community for the donations that helped make the game even more exciting!

For football standouts Ethan Bradshaw, Davin Chandler, and Trybe Wise, they just #DoWhatDecaturDoes and that’s commit to take their excellent play to leading Division I and top notch academic institutions.
Next year, Bradshaw, noted for his exceptional work ethic, will bring his game to prestigious West Point - The U.S. Military Academy. Chandler, a punishing force in both football and basketball, will join former teammate Brycen Coleman at Vanderbilt University. Wise, also a dual threat in football and basketball, will suit up at Georgetown University.
Joined by family, friends, teammates, coaches, and teachers, the three signed their commitments in a special ceremony.
While the celebration marked a milestone and promising future for the trio, Bradshaw, Chandler, and Wise remain focus on the immediate - and that’s bringing home an unprecedented second consecutive 2A State Championship in football this coming Saturday at the United States Naval Academy.

SDHS Key Club Rings in an Award!🔔
The month of December ushers in a season of festive lights and sounds of merriment. For the Stephen Decatur High School Key Club, it also marks the sound of bell ringing. Senator Mary Beth Carozza, a proud #SDHSAlum, recently congratulated the Key Club and, on behalf of the Lower Eastern Shore Salvation Army, presented the group with an award recognizing its outstanding participation in the bell ringing campaign.
While members of the Stephen Decatur High School Key Club are proud to accept the honor of placing in the top three of the Lower Eastern Shore for Salvation Army bell ringing, they do not participate for the recognition.
“Our members are just very community-oriented,” Co-Advisor Becky Kalchthaler said.
The Key Club is extremely involved in service projects from coat and peanut butter and jelly drives to blood drives to fundraising for various charitable endeavors. However, the club’s involvement in the Salvation Army bell ringing campaign is well established. The club has consistently been invited to celebrate Salvation Army fundraising milestones and has previously placed first in hours served. According to Co-Advisor Wendie Saullo, “it’s just become who we are.”
