SDHS Welcomes New Outdoor Track Coach Kevin O’Brien is a dedicated coach with over 12 years of experience in developing athletes and fostering team success. A 1999 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, Kevin was an active member of the school’s soccer, indoor track, and outdoor track teams, excelling in middle distance, sprints, relays, and jump events. His passion for athletics continued at Bethany College, where he was a member of both the soccer and track teams, graduating in 2003. With more than a decade of coaching experience, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his athletes. Recently relocating from South Florida back to the Berlin area with his wife Jenn, who works for Worcester County Public Schools, and their son’s Liam and Finn, Kevin is committed to a “team-first” mentality, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and unity in every practice and competition. His coaching philosophy centers around athlete development, focusing on maximizing each individual’s potential while ensuring overall team success.
