Newark, MD, October 9, 2026 – Worcester County Public Schools is proud to announce that three schools have been newly recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools (ADS) for 2026–2029 for their commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to create exemplary learning practices.

Cedar Chapel Special School (CCSS), Pocomoke Middle School (PMS), and Worcester Technical High School (WTHS) are the latest schools to earn the ADS distinction, joining six other schools in Worcester County. Of the six existing ADS, Berlin Intermediate School, Pocomoke High School, and Snow Hill High School earned their first recertification in the program for the same period.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of leadership and educational excellence, with a clear vision for how technology-rich environments support learning goals. In Apple Distinguished Schools, forward-thinking leaders and their communities work to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning, and they have documented results of academic accomplishments.

The selection and recertification of these schools as Apple Distinguished Schools highlight the schools’ success as innovators and creators of compelling learning environments that empower students to lead, learn, and thrive, to discover new opportunities, and to make their world a better place.

“Celebrating three newly named Apple Distinguished Schools and the first recertification of three others speaks to the creativity and commitment of our educators and students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Annette E. Wallace. “Knowing every child by name, strength, and need means creating opportunities for each student to learn, explore, and share their unique voice. Our educators are using technology to open those doors, helping students become confident creators, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers. These recognitions celebrate that work and challenge us to keep growing so every child has the opportunity to succeed.”

The three-year designation of being an Apple Distinguished School comes with the expectations that the schools will continuously innovate and explore cutting-edge opportunities for using technology to design the future of education.

Students and staff at all recognized schools will engage with the Apple Education team, along with a worldwide network of school leaders, to investigate and support the integration of new education products, curriculum, and services and inspire others. Schools have the opportunity to renew the recognition during the last year of their recognition term, by demonstrating continued growth in innovative learning with integrated technology.
